More human than Humains
The names of Jacques-Olivier Molon and Pierre-Olivier Thevenin may not be familiar to a lot of you, but if you happened to see the grueling (and I mean that in the most genre-positive sense of the word) 2007 pregnant-lady-in-distress horror opus Inside, then you know their work. That’s because they were responsible for a lot of the shocking, genuinely upsetting special effects on display in that grim piece of filmmaking.
Now, Molon and Thevenin have teamed up to direct a full-length feature of their own. Promising itself to be more of an “adventure” film than all-out horror, Humains (a.k.a. Humans) focuses on a team of researchers and a batch of tourists who travel to the Swiss Alps to check out a seemingly important discovery that could shed new light on human evolution. But when the flight crashes, the group find themselves caught in a race for survival, not only from the brutal elements, but also from someone — or something — that’s dwelling in the wilderness.
Humains is primed for an April 22 release in its native France, but you can check out the teaser, courtesy of the fine folks at Bloody Disgusting, over here.
